Invitation letter to supporters

Dear Lido supporter,

Do you believe our Lido is as much a part of Cheltenham as the 'Prom', or like me, recognise it's vital part in the towns summer spectrum ?
Do you appreciate too it's healthy & relaxing benifits for patrons young & old ?
Well of course you do !! Therefore please read on.

Our venerable pool & delightful grounds, 74 years old in May 2009, appear unchanged in an increasingly stressed environment, sadly it is only part of the picture and our voice continues to be needed in the efforts to ensure it's service to the community does not go unnoticed.
'Friends' have been a crucial conduit for the expression of local feelings towards this unique facility, contributing in part, to the preservation of our heritage, where so many elsewhere have failed. So far so good !

The Borough Councillors confidence in granting a 25 year lease, excellent 'Trust' management & the securing of Heritage Lottery funding for the main pool tank refurbishment, have brought us to the present, but it is timely to consider the future particularly as illustrated by the ongoing multi storey car park issue & it's polluting threats right next to the Lido lawn.
Beyond the lobbying, 'Friends' have lent practical support to the Trust by funding the provision of a range of items, over a number of years, which have enhanced & assisted management in their goals.

The work goes on & your support is sought, moral or practical, in achieving our central aim of ensuring the pool's future & supporting the Trust. Will you join us ? Do you have particular skills to offer ?
I would like to know your thoughts on the pool, how you might help & whether you could become actively involved in our efforts, however small that commitment might be.

Could you make 2009 the year you join the growing list of 'Friends', who have given back something to the facility that has served us so well all these years ?

I look forward to hearing from you & with your support, sharing the joys of Sandford Lido for many years to come.

Kind regards

David Holtham
Chair - Friends of the Lido
